Mini V-Mount Plate & Rear Cheese Plate for Canon EOS C300 Mk III/C500 Mk II

Being one of the first to own a newly released camera can sometimes come with its own problems. Alex Stone was one of the first to receive his Canon C500 Mark II and upon release, the EU-V2 was on backorder with no other V-mount plate available so he decided to build his own custom solution.

He has since made a few batches, selling out each time and many other C300 III & C500 II users are using his V-mount plate. Recently he has been able to add a Gold-mount option which uses the rear cheese plate.

Machined from aluminium, the Compact V-Mount plate attaches directly to the rear of the camera using two captive M4 bolts (included) and powers the camera via low profile XLR connector.

The right-angle connector is a nice touch, as it is just the right length and you don’t have excess cable sticking out.

What’s nice about the plate is that you can still use the native Canon A60 battery slot which enables hot-swapping.

The plate also features one D-tap port for supplying up to 10A for onboard accessories. It is conveniently located and does not block the use of any of the camera’s rear buttons, nor does it get in the way any of the camera’s SDI outputs.

It is compatible with any V-Mount battery and can be mounted lower for a more streamlined setup, particularly handy for larger batteries.

The plate is built from aluminium and uses stainless steel bolts. It has dimensions of 60 x 95.3 x 29.3mm and weighs 256g.

Attaching to the back of either the Canon C500 MkII or C300 MkIII via four M4 bolts (included), the Rear Cheese Plate permits accessory attachment without the need for a complete cage, or can be used to further expand your existing rig.

It features ten 3/8″ anti-twist and seventeen 1/4″ holes (including three on the top), plus is threaded to accommodate the IDX P-VMicro and Bebob VMM-Micro V-mount battery plates or the Bebob AMM-Micro Gold Mount battery plate as shown in the images.

The plate is built from aluminium and uses stainless steel bolts. It has dimensions of 66 x 83 x 12.7mm and weighs 145g.
