The Camera Pack: Peter McKinnon X NOMATIC

The Camera Pack: Peter McKinnon X NOMATIC is a customizable camera bag aimed at traveling photographer/videographers. The bag is designed to have all the pockets and compartments you need with customizable storage to hold your gear and your clothes too.

NOMATIC has teamed up with YouTuber Peter McKinnon to create what they are calling “The ultimate camera pack with customizable organization and easy access pockets.”

The Camera Pack is currently on Kickstarter where it has raised over $1,110,000 in its first week. So far the campaign has more than 3,200 backers.

NOMATIC was founded back in 2014 when two cousins, Jon Richards and Jacob Durham, designed a wallet and launched it on Kickstarter. They expected to get about 50 orders, but over 6,000 people backed their campaign, investing $171,000. Since then, Richards and Durham have raised nearly $10 million through eight crowdfunding campaigns.

Is it just another camera bag?

When it comes to bag design It’s not easy to come up with something that is different and to be honest, I don’t see anything that unique or revolutionary about this bag. According to the marketing material, what NOMATIC focused on first and foremost was organization. The bag had to have versatile compartmentalization with folding dividers.

The NOMATIC Camera Pack also has a separate clothing compartment to optimize packing, including a seven-litre expansion when more space is needed.

As usual, Newsshooter urges caution when backing any crowdfunding project as there are no guarantees that you will ever get your product.
