Canon announced the Intelligent Compact Camera Concept back at CES in January. We took a look at it at NAB 2018.
The Intelligent Compact Camera Concept is a 380 degree portable camera with intelligent tracking. It can be worn on a person with a lanyard, placed on a tripod, or mounted onto a cameras cold shoe.
Recording can be activated via voice or an app via Bluetooth. Once the camera starts tracking your face or object it will continue to track and you can shoot stills or video.
As far as what the camera is for. I think Canon isn’t sure. They said one of the reasons they were showing it to people at NAB was to get feedback and ideas on what applications would suit it.
Needless to say that since this is just a concept camera there isn’t any information on the pricing or availability.
