Wooden camera has released a bunch of new accessories for the Sony VENICE. These include an A-Box, Top Plate, Unified Baseplate, D-Box, Solid Baseplate, Air EVF Mount, and an Air EVF Mount Extension.
With the Sony VENICE now shipping, there is a going to be a demand for third-party accessories and Wooden Camera looks to have a lot of solutions if you need to customise your camera.
A-Box
The A-Box has been a popular product for Wooden Camera and they have made numerous different versions to solve audio input problems for a range of cameras. The A-Box for the Sony VENICE adapts the single 5 pin XLR on the side of the VENICE camera body and turns it into to two standard 3 pin XLRs (female). The A-Box is easy to install and remove and is designed to fit flush with the shape of the Sony Venice without blocking air flow. Phantom power can be enabled on the camera and the A-Box will pass it through to the microphones.

Top Plate
The Top Plate for the Sony VENICE is a top cheese plate that has been designed to contour to the shape of the camera body, leaving the USB port area open. The Plate provides rows of 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 holes for attaching handles, UVF Mount v2, Rod Clamps, or other accessories. There are also ARRI accessory mounts in several places (3/8-16 threaded hole with locating pins adjacent). Mounting holes are available and marked for the Master Top Handle and ARRI top handle.

Unified Baseplate
The Unified Baseplate is compatible with the Sony VENICE, URSA Mini, Sony F55, and Sony F5/55. It uses a quick release baseplate that provides lightweight 15mm rod support at the correct lens height. 15mm rods pass through the front to back and have two locking thumbscrews per side. The baseplate quick releases in two ways, giving the user the option to take the 15mm lightweight rods or to leave them behind.
To remove the camera and leave the LW 15mm rods behind, unlock the right side thumbscrew, slide the camera backwards a short distance, and lift straight up. The dovetail attached to the bottom of the camera is an ARCA Swiss standard shape which can integrate with many third-party products. Additionally, there are threaded 1/4-20 holes on the bottom for attaching to gimbals or tripod plates when necessary. Also on this upper dovetail is a vertical 15mm rod opening which can be used to support a lens adapter foot directly in front of the camera body.
The bottom of the baseplate is comprised of the Lower Quick Dovetail which has 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 threaded holes for attaching to tripod plate or ARRI standard bridge plate such as the Unified Bridgeplate (19mm) or Unified Bridgeplate (15mm Studio). To remove the camera from the included Lower Quick Dovetail and take the 15mm lightweight rods with you, unlock the left thumbscrew, slide the baseplate backwards a short distance, and lift up. This action exposes an integrated ARRI dovetail slot on the bottom which can attach directly to any 2060 Dovetails, Safety Dovetails, or Shoulder Rigs.
For VCT-14 compatible mounting options, the Unified Baseplate can be attached to the Unified VCT Wedge Plate, providing easy counterbalance ability while on the shoulder. This could then be attached to the Unified VCT-14 Tripod Plate which would be attached to the tripod head.
Additional Unified Lower Quick Dovetails can be purchased to mount to gimbals, jibs, cranes, etc, making for quick and repeatable camera transitions.

D-Box
The D-Box for the Sony VENICE is available in both V-Mount ($1,195 USD) and Gold Mount ($1,195). The D-Box is a power distribution device that mounts directly to the back of the camera. It provides 2x D-tap, 2x 2pin LEMO, 2x 3pin Fischer with R/S, 1x USB, and 4pin XLR DC Input.
AIR EVF Mount
The AIR EVF Mount for the Sony VENICE is a replacement mount for Sony’s DVF-EL200 EVF. It has been designed to be lightweight and can be adjusted with just one hand. The AIR EVF Mount will be available soon for $550 USD.
AIR EVF Extension Arm
The AIR EVF Extension Arm extends the stock Sony EVF mount or the Wooden camera AIR EVF Mount to make it more usable for tripod shooting It Includes an attachment point for ARRI eyepiece leveller and will retail for $480 USD.
