Commlite has released two new lens adaptors.

The first is the CM-EF-E HS which is a Canon EF/EF-S to Sony E-mount adaptor. The HS stands for high speed referring to the autofocus performance, with a button to switch between phase detect and contrast detection AF.

It’s not too clear how this works in the camera settings but according to the site, the focus switch changes the focus mode between Contrast Detection & Phase Detection.

The adaptor has a USB port for firmware upgrades and comes with a removable 1/4″ support foot.

It has contacts for lens data transmission and supports lenses with image stabilisation.

The CM-EF-E HS will retail for USD $149.

The second adaptor released is the CM-AEF-MFT BOOSTER. A Canon EF to Micro 4/3 Adaptor with a 0.71x focal reducer for a wider field of view.

The adaptor has a USB port for firmware upgrades and comes with a removable 1/4″ support foot.

It has contacts for lens data transmission and supports lenses with image stabilisation.

The CM-AEF-MFT Booster retails for USD $239.

Competition

There are a number of different lens adaptors available and they all perform slightly differently in regards to autofocus performance and lens compatibility. Other adaptors to consider are Metabones, Aputure DEC and the Sigma MC-11.
