Rhino, the company that makes the very nice Rhino EVO Sliders, has started a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the highly mobile Rhino ROV. The slider is an all-in-one motorized slider for an iPhone/GoPro/Android & DSLR/Mirrorless camera. Anything up to 5lbs will work. Using it is as simple as pressing record and your phone moves and captures cinematic video simultaneously.
The ROV comes in two models. One mainly for smartphones and the other that can handle more weight like a mirrorless camera. You also get a few extras like a Ball head, DSLR time-lapse mode, and a premium gunmetal finish. The ROV also has two length options. A 16″ Traveler or 8″ Everyday models. The battery is said to last for twenty-four hours. That’s a long run time! Very handy for time-lapse shots that go all night long.
ROV is comfortable on a tripod or on the ground with the included feet that are adjustable to get just the right angle.
The slider will be compatible with Rhino’s Storyteller app, that lets you control the ROV. Change direction, speed, and other settings with easy. The goal is $50,000 and-as of writing this-it’s already over halfway to being fulfilled. Packages start at $229 for the ROV Everyday to $479 for an ultimate bundle.
