SLR Magic have announced another addition to their full frame E-mount lineup – the SLR Magic CINE 18mm f/2.8 wide angle. With a compact size, low weight (445g), and 18mm focal length, this lens should make a good option for those running Sony full frame alpha series cameras such as the a7S and a7r series on gimbals.
The lens should also be useful for anyone shooting architectural and landscape cinematography or photography. The SLR Magic CINE 18mm F2.8 wide angle has a de-clicked aperture and 0.8 pitch gears on both the iris and focus rings.
The 18mm lens has a optical design that consists of 10 elements in eight groups, and a minimum close focus of just 20cm. It has an internal thread for a 62mm filter, and the filter mount does not rotate.
There are now focal lengths of 18, 25, 35, 50 and 75mm available in the company’s full frame E-mount lineup. SLR Magic continue to come up with interesting lenses at a very reasonable price. If you are a full frame Sony alpha user who is looking for manual focus, cinema style lenses for shooting video, they are definitely worth checking out.
