Film + Music Conference wants to get you all in a room together, y’all

FilmMusicConf PressKit Blog 3 SFW

The team behind the Filmsupply and Musicbed libraries are taking their first step into live events with the inaugural Film + Music ConferenceThey aren’t known to do things by halves – their magazine (also called Film + Music) is very glossy and their Musicbed Sessions look and sound lovely. So chances are that the event will be executed to a similarly high standard.

Famous faces, up and coming acts

Based in the arts district of Fort Worth, near Dallas, Texas, the two day event will feature keynote presentations, educational workshops and live concerts from industry figures like Shane Hurlbut ASC and Andy Baker, the Global Creative Director for Nat Geo. Although perhaps they’re unlikely to be performing in the concerts.

Some of the acts who will be performing. In colour, we are assured.

That will be left to acts like Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors, Flagship, Chad Lawson and Sharon Irving, all of whose music you can also licence through Musicbed.

Meet and greet

The Conference is also designed as an event to meet and network with like-minded folks from the music and film industries. I’m always still pleasantly surprised by how much of a difference it can make to meet colleagues in real life I’ve got to know online – there’s a reason that shows like NAB are such a draw.

Daniel McCarthy, founder and CEO of Musicbed, had this to say about the project via email:

“Film + Music Conference was born out of the idea that we’re at our best when we can share, educate, inspire, and challenge each other in person. We wanted to create a different kind of experience that will speak to filmmakers and creatives at every level, and give them the chance to meet face-to-face with the people in their community.”
