NAB 2016: Rotolight Anova Pro LED light

Rotolight were showing an update of their Anova LED light at NAB this year. Called the Anova Pro, Rotolight say it’s 43% brighter than the previous model and features 720 LEDs rather than the Anova’s 576.

It’s colour temperature tuneable from 3150K to 6300K, there are more hardware controls than the previous model and it’s possible to sync up the heads via DMX.

There are also a couple of unique features – SFX mode allows you to imitate a firelight or a TV and new strobe mode allows you to use the light as you would a traditional photography flash. So if you’re shooting stills as well as video you only need to take one light into the shower.

A hard flight case and custom barn doors for the Anova Pro are available either separately or as a kit.

The light is also cheaper compared to its predecessor, starting at $1499 US for the head, battery plate, DMX input and filters. Custom soft and hard cases, Chimera softboxes and barn doors are also available. Rotolight hope to be shipping the Anova Pro in time for Cinegear at the start of next month: the Rotolight website is currently accepting deposits for pre-orders.
