On the Teradek Live Show, Dan Chung and Rodney Charters talk to Simon from Blackmagic Design about their new Video Assist 4K, the big brother of last year’s Video Assist monitor. The 4K model is a seven inch 4K screen with two analogue mini XLR inputs that provide phantom power, 6G SDI and HDMI inputs and outputs, and dual UHS-II SD card slots.

The Studio Viewfinder for the URSA Mini is an SDI-powered seven inch screen that sits on top of the camera with adjustable shields, easily accessible buttons on the side for control, two large handles.

The URSA mini also has new firmware, which gives a whole new operating system for the camera. This addresses a lot of operating niggles that users have experienced with the camera – notably moving a lot of camera functions from inside the menu system to the touchscreen.

The Video Assist 4K and Studio Viewfinder are both available now, priced $895 US and $1,795 US respectively. The URSA Mini firmware update is slated for later in the year.
