Watch a DJI Phantom chop up fruit at 1500fps

While we don’t condone using drones for purposes other that what they are designed for, Speed Motion Films have done a rather amusing video called “Drone Blender.” Shot in super slow motion at 1500fps on the Phantom Miro camera from Vision Research, a DJI Phantom proceeds to chop up a variety of fruits, vegetables, donuts, popcorn, and even a yogurt container.

Speed Motion Films used a broken DJI Phantom that could no longer fly and spun the props up to full speed. While they did run over it with a car at the end of the video, which does seem like a waste, they are quick to point out that they donated both time and money to several local charities dealing with homelessness and hunger.

Watching fruit get chopped up by a drone is highly entertaining, but it does show just how strong and dangerous the spinning blades can be. Always fly and use any drone responsibly and safely. The video was shot on a closed set and could be potentially very dangerous so please do not attempt this at home.
