New Convergent Design Odyssey firmware adds ProRes 4444 and 4444 XQ recording options

Convergent Design has released yet another firmware update for their Odyssey series of monitor/recorders. Firmware v2015.11 adds a host of new features including HD Dual-Stream Monitoring which allows you to view two HD signals while recording one of them. Another great new feature is that you can finally now record in ProRes 4444 or ProRes 4444XQ. This is great news for owners of the Sony F3/F5/F23/F35/F55 cameras as well as Canon C300mkII and C500 owners. You can record in 2K 10/12-bit RGB up to 50p/59.94p or 1080 10/12-bit RGB up to 50p/59.94p. Previously you could record in a 12bit colour space but only in DPX and the files were enormous.

Convergent Design have also added a host of new LUTs for use with the Canon C300 Mark II and Panasonic Varicam, GH4 and DVX200.

HD Dual-Stream Monitoring:
View two HD video signals while recording one in Apple ProRes (HQ/422/LT)
Record in 1080p, 1080i, or 720p up to 50/59.94 up to 1080p50
View two SDI signals or one SDI & one HDMI (SDI A+SDI B or HDMI+SDI B)
Select either input for recording (no switching during record)
Please Note:
Both sources must match resolution, frame rate & cadence (ie, 1080, progressive, 30fps)
Remove 3:2 pulldown is not supported at the this time (recorded as 60i)
HDMI can only be paired with SDI B (overwrites SDI A)
SDI A or HDMI must be present in order to see or record SDI B
Dual-Stream Recording Option will come in a future firmware update
