Korean rig maker Varavon are having a sale right now to mark the redesign of their website. There are some real bargains to be had. It runs until 5 November.
One of the items in the sale is the Zeus cage I’ve been using on the Sony a7R II and a7S II a lot recently. It is one of a very few that are actually available for the cameras, and although it does have a few drawbacks it is probably the most versatile on the market right now. Other items on sale include various Armor cages including ones for the Sony a7S, GH4 and Canon 5D mkIII.
Probably the best deal in the sale is the SLIDECAM EX Plus, which is a heavier duty slider for loads up to 44lbs. I’ve used one and it works well with mid-sized cameras like the C300 and FS700. It has a wider track than the lower specified models in the range and removable legs are included. It comes in 31 and 39 inch versions and in the sale they are priced at $199 and $229 respectively – way below the normal price.
