IBC 2015: Teradek VidiU Pro

By associate editor Elliot Smith:

Teradek have added to their VidiU range of streaming boxes with the VidiU Pro. It accepts an HDMI input from, say, a camera on location, and streams live over the internet to destinations like YouTube or Ustream. Profiles for different services are preloaded in the device, so it’s designed as a turnkey device for internet broadcasting.

There’s an internal Li-ion battery that lasts for up to two hours or it can be powered via a barrel connector from your camera’s battery. The VidiU Pro offers 1080 HD streaming at up to 5Mbps which adapts depending on the bandwidth available. It also features Teradek’s Sharelink connection bonding to amalgamate bandwidth from different sources and provide a more stable connection.

The VidiU Pro is priced at $999US and is available now from Teradek.com.
