It isn’t every day that you see a brand new concept in camera rig design. At the BIRTV show in Beijing, Tilta showed us just that – their new ESR-T06 cage for the Arri Alexa MINI has a unique integrated power system which tidies away a lot of cabling inside the rig itself. Instead of the usual tangle of power cables wrapping themselves around the camera you can now run power through the cage body and up into the top handle. From there, you only need to use a short cable to your device.
The idea is certainly very smart and if it proves successful I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot more rigs like this in the future. The ESR-T06 also has a clever power- and port-distribution box that allows the use of several different types of industry standard connectors.
