Chinese LED lights were everywhere on show at BIRTV. On show were literally hundreds of LED panels of every size (some with extremely dubious colour reproduction). LED spot lights have also started to appear at lower costs – from very small to giant studio fixtures.
One that did catch our eye was the LED Lite from Lightstar. This is a 40W mains powered LED that comes in a nicely assembled all metal body. The LED has variable colour temperature and a reasonably tight spot beam. Most interestingly though it can be controlled via an iOS app or a small remote controller. Western prices were unknown but expect it to be very competitive.
Also on show were larger Lightstar LED fresnels, some of which had battery power options.
