At Broadcast Asia I spoke to Richard Lim from Blackmagic about the progress of the new URSA and Studio cameras. He told me that July shipping for the first URSAs is still a possibility.

He also showed me a novel feature on the Ursa that will be of interest to users of multi-cam setups. You can feed another camera’s SDI output to the Ursa’s SDI input and use it to monitor the second camera’s output on the Ursa’s screen. That second camera can be any brand as long as it has a compatible SDI output.

Richard also confirms that the new Davinci Resolve 11 grading software will be a free upgrade to those existing owners of a full version of Davinci Resolve.
