Aputure has a new video that explains how their BLAIR-CG with Extended Red light engine works and why it is important.
Aputure developed the BLAIR-CG lighting engine to overcome common issues with RGBW LED lights, such as poor skin tone rendering and inaccurate color reproduction. A lot of RGBW lighting engines can struggle to produce vibrant, natural whites or precise hues. The BLAIR-CG lighting engine was designed to create a full, natural spectrum by using specific emitters, including lime for white light, green, amber, and multiple red and blue sources. The addition of indigo emitters between ultraviolet and blue helps activate natural fluorescence in subjects, mimicking daylight and tungsten sources without adding harmful UV radiation. To improve skin tone accuracy, the engine also extends the red spectrum.

The BLAIR-CG lighting engine is used in the STORM 80C, STORM 1000C, and NOVA 2 series. It is also in the new high-powered STORM CS32.
