Godox ES01 Electric Suction Base

Godox

Godox has unveiled its new ES01 Electric Suction Base. It was designed so that you could place a light where traditional stands and clamps can’t reach.

It features one-press suction and what Godox refers to as automatic pressure maintenance.

Key features

  • One-press suction: Secure it to a smooth surface
  • Automatic pressure maintenance: Restores suction automatically when needed
  • Palm-sized design: Compact & lightweight
  • Versatile mounting: Supports cold-shoe and 1/4″-20 mounting options
  • Built for compact lighting: Supports compatible flashes and compact LED lights weighing up to 360g / 12.7 oz
  • Flexible placement: Ideal for glass, mirrors, tiles, glossy tables, and other smooth surfaces

The ES01 Electric Suction Base can support lights that have cold-shoe and 1/4″-20 mounting options. It was designed for smaller-sized lights, and you are not going to be using a medium- to large-sized COB with it!

The maximum weight capacity it can hold is 360g / 12.7 oz, which does limit its use to lightweight, smaller-sized fixtures.

Godox lists that it is compatible with its TT350, V350, iT32, iT30Pro, iT22, iT20, iM22, iM20, iM30Pro, and iM30 flashes, as well as the LED6R and LED6Bi compact LED lights.

Now, if you want to attach something heavier, the ES01 K3 Electric Suction Base Kit supports flashes and LEDs weighing up to 2.6 lb / 1.17kg. The three-base design features a 1/4″-20 thread.

While it will work with any light, Godox lists compatibility with its own:

  • AD100Pro, AD100Pro II, AD200Pro, AD200Pro II, AD300Pro, and AD300Pro II flashes
  • P260C PRO, FH50Bi, FH50R, and LED308II LEDs

Pricing & Availability

The Godox ES01 Electric Suction Base is $29 USD, and you can buy the ES01 K3, which is a kit that comes with three of them for $79 USD. Both are now available to pre-order.

This is not the first time we have seen a product like this. Ulanzi has the SK-23 Electric Suction Cup Mount ($29 USD), and Tilta has its Hydra Electronic Suction Cup (6″) $109 USD. Please note that Tilta’s solution has a signfigantly higher payload capacity than these other two options.
