“Signature” monitoring preset look

The new “Signature” monitoring preset look is an interesting addition, and it was developed in conjunction with the post-house Picture Shop. So what is it? Up until now, the VENICE 2 has had the ability to use multiple monitoring Preset Looks, including S709; however, due to a growing demand to view images with a wider dynamic range and more natural color reproduction, they have come up with the new monitoring Preset Look they are calling “Signature”. It is claimed to offer more natural color reproduction and skin tones while also being able to display better transitions from shadows to highlights.

When using the “Signature” monitoring preset look, users should see a noticeable difference in the highlights when compared to using S709. “Signature” is said to roll off highlights in a more pleasing way to avoid any clipping when viewing on a monitor. When it comes to the shadows, Sony has tried to keep the gradation from dark to light, but also to make blacks, black. While S709 was designed to lean slightly toward warmer tones, “Signature” is said to be more neutral.
