Blackmagic Design has a new tutorial where you can learn how to set up camera control with the Blackmagic Studio Converter, Blackmagic Studio Camera 6K Pro, and the ATEM Television Studio 4K8.
In the video, you can find out how the Blackmagic Studio Converter sends camera control data like talkback, tally, camera control, gain, color, and focus control from your ATEM switcher to your studio camera. The converter will also power the camera via the Ethernet cable while converting the camera and program return feeds to SDI.
Key setup steps covered:
- Hardware Connections: Using a Cat 6A cable to connect the studio converter to the camera for PoE++ power, video, talkback, tally, and camera control.
- Configuration: Matching resolution and frame rate settings (2160p 60) across the camera, the studio converter, and the ATEM switcher.
- System Integration: Connecting the studio converter to the ATEM switcher via SDI cables to facilitate camera input and return feeds.
- Switcher Operation: How to use the ATEM software to manage camera IDs, output settings, and tally light functionality.
Once connected, the ATEM switcher overrides the camera’s local settings, ensuring centralized control over parameters like color temperature and gain.
