Viltrox M10 Filter Tray First Look at NAB 2026

At NAB 2026 in Las Vegas, Viltrox was showing a prototype of a new Filter Tray for matte boxes that was called M10 (it doesn’t have an official name yet!).

The M10 is essentially a powered filter tray that has a series of LED lights around the inside of the frame. Users can put whatever filter they want inside and then power up the filter tray and activate the LED lights.

You can change the color of the LED lights and also their intensity. There is a control dial and a small LED screen on the back where you can make further adjustments.

The whole idea behind the filter is to add subtle color tints to the image. You could, of course, do something similar in post, but if you are going for a specific look while filming, then you could use the M10.

It is powered by a 2-pin LEMO.

The Viltrox M10 is still in the prototype stage, but Viltrox should have a price and availability around Cine Gear in June. Viltrox told me there is a good chance they may also make their own matte box that the M10 could be used with.
