Aputure has unveiled its new Spotlight Mount II ellipsoidal projector and a range of accessories. The Spotlight Mount II is an optical modifier for ProLock and Bowens mount lights up to 800W and is optimized for use with the STORM 400x and STORM 700x.
There are four lenses available for the Spotlight Mount II: 19°, 26°, 36°, and the ultra-wide 50°. The Spotlight Mount II features a rotating barrel for precision alignment and an advanced new optical design that is claimed to produce higher brightness with a sharp, even beam.
According to Aputuire, they looked at all of the feature requests clients have made and completely overhauled the design of the projector. The new optical design is significantly brighter with a more even beam when used with our modern STORM 400x and 700x lights. It will also work well with the amaran Halo 200x, 300x, and 600x, and the amaran Ray 360c and 660c.
The barrel fully rotates for precise alignment of cuts and gobos. The lens range has expanded to four lenses from 19° all the way out to an ultra-wide 50°, which is useful when working in tight spaces.
By accepting both metal and now glass gobos the Spotlight Mount II can project far more varied and complex lighting effects. All of this while maintaining the same basic size and weight of the original Spotlight Mount.

The Spotlight Mount II is available for purchase with any one of its four lenses included, along with a hard case. It retails or $629 USD.
Additional lenses can be purchased and include a soft case, plus there is a 3-lens case available, so the entire kit can be contained in two hard cases. The Spotlight Mount II accepts B-sized gobos in both metal and glass, and it is compatible with the same optional 18-leaf iris as the original Spotlight Mount.
