Keeping in the Shadows is a new surf film from Director/DP Perry Gershkow, which took six years to make. It was shot on the RED GEMINI 5K.
The film follows Noah Wegrich for six years on a globe-spanning journey through five distinct countries. Along the way, he’s joined by an eclectic crew of our favorite surfers who also happen to be some of our closest friends – the kind of crew where talent runs deep, but camaraderie runs deeper. This crew includes Nat Young, Tanner Gudauskas, Pat Gudauskas, Brendon Gibbons, Guillermo Satt, Torren Martyn, Bryce Baker, Parker Coffin, Cliff Kapono, Tom Lowe, Ian Crane, Wilem Banks, Noah Lane, Conor Maguire, Ben Coffey, Jordy Maree, Danilo Cerda, Gearoid Mcdaid, and more.

According to the Director/DP Perry Gershkow, “The film is an ode to the surf movies I grew up with, work that feels sacred, unrushed, and full of curiosity. It’s about giving yourself fully to something meaningful, stepping away when needed, and returning with clarity. Moving at your own pace, listening instead of reacting, creating with intention rather than chasing attention. Keeping in the Shadows is about holding things close and staying true to why we started in the first place. The cinematic journey is stitched into every frame: frigid waters, howling winds, and long 12-hour days, pushing both the camera and the crew in the process. Not just another surf film; something visually striking, grounded in story, and shaped by travel, like-minded people, and the lifelong bonds that come from shared experience.”
Keeping in the Shadows will premiere up and down the West Coast from late February through early April 2026, then head to the East Coast + Europe in the fall. Tickets + premiere info http://keepingintheshadows.com
