The Prompter XL features a 15.6″ full HD display that is designed to be read from a distance of up to 15′ / 4.6m, and it also doubles as a spare monitor to enhance your multitasking. Prompter XL will automatically mirror, or flip, whatever content you put on its display.
Film or stream with a mirrorless or studio camera with a zoom lens, thanks to the prompter’s various step-up rings. A single USB-C cable plugs directly into your computer for quick setup. Prompter XL runs on a single cable connected to your computer, providing both power and data.
Prompter features a number of mounting options to work with a large number of cameras and webcams. However, due to some cameras not having ¼” mounts, having fields of view wider than 20mm FFE, or awkward sizes, it’s best to verify your camera’s compatibility.
The payload capacity is 5kg / 11 lb, and the maximum length a camera and lens can be is 8.7″ / 22cm. The prompter itself weighs 2.97 kg / 6.6 lbs.
There are various backplate options depending on what type of camera you are working with:
RING BACKPLATE (For threaded, non-motorized lenses)
This is for DSLRs and mirrorless cameras, with nine included step-up rings to fit virtually any lens size. Simply screw the matching ring onto your lens, align it with the backplate’s grooves, and slide it down until it’s centered.
UNIVERSAL BACKPLATE (For other cameras and lenses)
Best with zoom lenses, camcorders, and smaller cameras like point-and-shoots or action cams. Raise your camera to center, slide it forward nice and close, then drape over the shroud to create a dark, sealed enclosure.

You can mount it directly to a tripod, C-stand, or other mount that can hold the combined weight of both your teleprompter and camera equipment. Prompter XL has three mounting points—two 1/4-20″ and one 3/8″ thread.
The prompter comes with Elgato’s free Camera Hub software that will work on your computer or with Stream Deck. You can use the Camera Hub app to facilitate advanced settings like Voice Sync for intuitive script reading or Twitch integration to read and respond to your chat right on the teleprompter’s screen. Camera Hub is available for both PC and Mac.
