The BENRO NE1 Electronic ND Filter Kit is a very interesting product that will be available soon. It is essentially an electronic variable ND filter that can automatically adjust the amount of ND it is applying while allowing you to keep your ISO, shutter speed, and F stop the same.
The Benro NE1 automatically adjusts light transitions based on ambient light, eliminating the need for frequent filter changes during shooting.
By utilizing a high-precision optical sensor, the NE1’s Bluetooth remote (NC1) can auto-adjust ND levels from ND3 to ND64 in real time.
It is compatible with all lenses that have a front filter diameter of between 67mm and 82mm
This looks to be a very interesting product, especially for users of mirrorless hybrids and digital cinema cameras.
Users can switch between Auto/Manual Mode with a single tap on the filter or remote, and dial in stops with hard-stop accuracy.
The included VF1 Bluetooth Controller can be mounted on your camera’s hot shoe or anywhere else you want. It allows you to adjust settings even when your camera is in a hard-to-reach spot.
BENRO claims that it features customized Corning Optical Glass with multi-layered nano-coatings and that it is able to produce exceptional color accuracy, reduced flare, and no unwanted color cast.
