The Ambient LockitBT, also known as Lockit Bluetooth, is now available to purchase.
If you are not familiar with the LockitBT, it provides the same functionality as a classic Lockit Timecode and Sync generator, with the following additional features:
- Bluetooth interface
- Remote control via LockitRemote App (available for free for iOS and Android)
- ACN Radar to monitor and control ACN devices in the app (incl. already discontinued ACN devices like ACL204 or TinyLockit)
We first saw a prototype of the LockitBT at IBC 2025 in Amsterdam.
Now that it has Bluetooth, you can use a free Apple iOS or Android app to monitor, control, and make changes to the Lockit BT, or any other Ambient timecode product, as they are all on the same network.
The other interesting development is that there is no reason why the new Lockit BT can’t be used with products from Zoom, Nikon, and Tascam that receive their timecode via Bluetooth. This would require those companies to implement a firmware upgrade so that they would work with the Ambient Lockit BT.
If you are already using the Lockit system, one additional LockitBT is all you need to view and control all of your ACN devices via the app.
