Creamsource has added former ARRI CEO Markus Zeiler to its team as Group Managing Director. This is being described as a pivotal moment for Creamsource as they look to expand into new markets, increase their R&D efforts, and develop the next generation of lighting tools for filmmakers, partners, and production teams.
Since 2005, Creamsource has been run by its founders, Tama Berkeljon and Sasha Marks. With Markus stepping into operational leadership, Tama and Sasha get to invest more time in new technologies and tools.
Markus’ experience spans LED development and lighting leadership at ARRI, as well as business growth and expansion at MBS Europe. He has overseen product and operations teams, led major global initiatives, and helped drive the worldwide adoption of LED lighting in film and television.
The lighting market has changed drastically over the last few years, and a lot of the established players have struggled to stay afloat. Quite a few of the companies we were all very familiar with in the lighting industry have either amalgamated or gone out of business entirely. It will be interesting to see what new products Creamsource comes up with and what new markets they try and enter.
