The Mutiny Pixboom Spark Power IO is now available to pre-order. It is an expansion unit for the upcoming Pixboom Spark High-Speed camera that adds power and IO.
Spark Power IO will start shipping late December / early January. The camera starts shipping in 2026/Q1 around late Jan / Feb. Available in V-mount or Gold-mount, and the battery plate is interchangeable between the two.
Spark Power IO for the Pixboom Spark is very lightweight, compact, and built with plenty of IO ports and power outputs. Mutiny based its Spark Power IO on the popular KX-IO for Red Komodo X and Raptor, which has been adopted worldwide by the largest rental houses and used on some the biggest feature films. The housing is made with the same durable high-impact multi-jet fusion (MJF) polymer that their battery mounting products are well known for. SPARK Power IO features

- 6 Amp total resettable digital fuse with red LED indicator (2x 2pin 0B and Fischer 3)
There is an anti-battery drain switch so you can leave your battery and accessories connected without draining the battery between company moves, etc.
You connect it to the Spark via a 9-pin built-in cable.
There is SMBUS battery information when used with batteries that pass SMBUS data (on V-mount only).
V-Mount Battery Plate Features: 2x D-Tap power ports, offset directions, unregulated (not part of the fuse amp limit) with shorter positive pins so ground always connects first. It also has 1x unregulated 2pin 0B power port.
Gold Mount Battery Plate Features: 1x unregulated D-Tap power port (not part of the fuse amp limit) with a shorter positive pin so ground always connects first. It also has 1x unregulated 2pin 0B power port.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
(1) Mutiny recommends using 12A batteries with SPARK Power IO to maximize power delivery to the power ports and camera.
(2) Mutiny do not recommend the use of a shark fin with Spark Power IO due to the amount of leverage you are putting on the v-lock on the camera. This can lead to damage if not supported properly from underneath or when using long or extremely heavy batteries
