NAB 2014: JVC's IP live streaming shoulder mount camera

Chuck Fadely talks to Edgar Shane, general manager of engineering for JVC, about the connectivity features of the GY-HM890, a new ProHD shoulder-mount camera with IP connectivity for live streaming, FTP, and remote access via a cellular modem. The camera can use a new JVC Zixi streaming/compression service for full broadcast HD over a single Verizon USB cell modem. The 1/3in three-chip camera can shoot XDCAM, MOV, MXF, AVCHD, and H.264, and can shoot full HD to one SD card while also recording compressed H.264 to another. A big feature for news crews: the $9995 GY-HM890 can record a pool feed into the camera.
