NAB 2016: DJI Ronin-MX three-axis gimbal with internal GPS

DJI’s new Ronin-MX gimbal is its first to include an internal GPS system. This provides information on the G-force, acceleration and speed of the device, allowing it to better stabilise the camera when working in fast moving situations. Though similar to the previous Ronin and Ronin M units, the MX has a new battery arrangement, mounting an original-style Ronin battery to the back, purely for powering your accessories, and your camera. The new battery for the gimbal itself now sits at the front, for better balance. However, the two batteries require separate chargers. The mount of the Ronin-MX contains electronics, allowing it to talk to the Matrice 600 drone when paired together, allowing it to share information to help optimise the stabilisation when in flight. The HDMI out allows the unit to provide a down link when used with the Matrice 600 via the Lightbridge 2 software at 1080p 60fps.

[Update] The Ronin-MX GPS capabilities are only used when connected to the GPS unit on m600 or the optional, external GPS unit.
