In our latest NAB video Clinton Harn talks to Scott Emerton of Rode about the their newest microphones. They discuss the recently launched the entry level Videomic Go and also useful accessories such as the Invisilav. He also talks about the My Rode Reel competition which has $70,000 worth of prizes up for grabs.

Rode have been sponsoring Newsshooter’s coverage of NAB for the past couple of years and we are very grateful for their continued support.

Several readers have asked how we do the sound for our show coverage. All the floor interviews are done using the Rode Reporter mic plugged directly into either Canon C series or Sony FS cameras. The show floor can be one of the most challenging audio environments and the Reporter mic does a great job when you get it up close to your subject. For our interviews on the Teradek live show stage we used Rode HS1 headset microphones. The acoustics in the perspex box are very hard to work with and production crew from Blaze Streaming Media chose the HS1 to give us the best possible chance of eliminating nasty background noise and echo.
