Sachtler Ace L tripod head gets a redesign to work better with sliders

Sachtler has re-developed its popular Ace L fluid head to make it compatible with pretty much all sliders. Based on customer feedback, the improved Ace L 75mm tripod head can now be easily converted to a flat base, through the removal of a bottom screw, and mounted directly to a slider. This is good news because using the previous ACE head on a slider was not a straight forward exercise. To make it work you had to use a small hi-hat to adapt the head for slider use.

The Ace L has a payload range of up to six kilograms and is well suited to DSLRs,lighter camcorders and large sensor video cameras. It can be purchased with three different carbon fibre tripod legs options – the floor spreader, mid-level spreader or telescopic tripod system.

“The Ace L is a popular product and is particularly well suited to use with DSLR cameras. By adding the slider capability, our customers are now receiving a more efficient product with added versatility and functionality,” says Barbara Jaumann, product manager, Sachtler.

The Ace L features the Sachtler’s seven-step counter balance, patented SAdrag™, illuminated bubble level. If it is like all the other Sachtler tripods I’ve ever tried, it should have a nice smooth panning movement and grade A construction.

The new Ace L will be show at this year’s NAB show in Las Vegas in April. The Newshooter team will be there to inspect it thoroughly.
