Voigtlander 50mm f/1.2 and 110mm f/2.5 – CP+ 2018

At the 2018 CP+ show in Japan, Cosina showed us two new lenses, the Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.2 Aspherical VM lens for Leica M-mount, and the Voigtlander Macro APO Lanthar 110mm f/2.5 lens for Sony E-mount.

The Voigtlander Macro APO Lanthar 110mm f/2.5 has 10 aperture blades and a close focus ability of 35cm. The front filter diameter is 58mm. The lens features manual aperture and focus and is built to the same high standards you would expect from a Voigtlander lens.

The Nokton 50mm f/1.2 Aspherical VM for Leica M-mount will eventually join the three other 50mm Voigtlander VM lenses, the Nokton 50mm f/1.1, Nokton 50mm f/1.5 Aspherical, and the Heliar 50mm f/3.5. Like its siblings, the Nokton 50mm f/1.2 Aspherical V is beautifully made, small in size, and easy to use. It can be easily adapted to work on a wide variety of cameras such as any Sony E-mount camera.

We got to try out both of these lenses on a Sony a7s and were impressed with the compact size, manual operation and sharpness of both lenses even when used wide open. The Voigtlander Macro APO Lanthar 110mm f/2.5 and the Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.2 Aspherical VM lens for Leica M-mount are yet to get a release date or a price.
