One of the most interesting cinema cameras this year has been AJA’s CION. It promises to deliver 4K images with excellent colour and latitude, coupled with a lightweight shoulder mounted design. The camera finally began shipping today just in time for Christmas. To coincide with the launch AJA have just posted a technical video showing what the camera is capable of. It covers Exposure Index, Gamma and In-Camera Color Correction options available with the CION in 4K and in HD:

You can find out more about the Cion in our previous post on the camera. The camera costs around $8995 but you will need to add an EVF or monitor on top of that price to get it working.
