The Tilta Arm is a vehicle stabilisation platform designed to handle camera payloads between 22-55lbs (9.97kg-25.94kg). Tilta Arm is designed to work with the company’s own Gravity gimbal, as well as the DJI Ronin 2 and Freefly Movi systems.

It features a front arm with a hydraulic dampening pole designed and patented by a Dutch ASC member. Tilta claims that by using a double-hydraulic cylinder system, the Arm can achieve ultra smooth shots even when stressed at its maximum payload capacity.

It has been engineered for high speeds, and according to Tilta, the faster you go, the more the Arm will provide enhanced resistance, peak shock-absorption and stability. Users can adjust the built-in damping adjustment knob to fine tune the rig for optimal calibration. The main car mount of the Tilta Arm insulates the “after-shock” that can stem from the mounting equipment itself. You can use use one 1.5″ Speed rail (Pipe with 2in Outer Diameter) to connect the Tilta Arm to just about any vehicle rig.

The main arm’s shock absorbing spring has a a built in tension adjustment which allows the system to carry pay loads from 22lbs to 55lbs. This high pay load capacity allows users to run just about any camera and lens package you can think of. The stainless steel shock absorbing cradle head is said to be resistant to high temperatures and corrosion. Additionally, the cradle head provides hard damping to excessive shock.

Tiltamax Gravity

The Tilta Arm was built with the Tiltamax Gravity in mind. The cradle head is equipped with Tilta’s Gravity Adapter Mount, this allows you to quickly and easily slide the Gravity on to the Tilta Arm. Users are not limited to using the system with the Tiltamax Gravity however, as the Tilta Arm can also be adapted to other gimbal systems like the Movi and Ronin 2 by purchasing additional custom made adapter mounts.

The Tilta Arm comes complete with a rolling hard-shell waterproof safety case with custom foam inserts. Tilta now have a whole system where you can combine the Arm with Tilta’s other filmmaking accessories like the Nucleus Series Wireless Follow Focus, A1 Tools Wireless Gimbal Controller: Alpha Wheels, and Wireless HD Video Transmission Systems.

At $4,999US the Tilta Arm looks to be pretty well priced given its feature set and payload capacity. Other options worth looking at include the Flowcine Black Arm and the Rig Wheels Cloud Mount.
