Litepanels Gemini LED soft light – IBC 2017

The Litepanels Gemini is a 2×1 LED RGBWW soft light for use in the studio and on location. And no that’s not a typo (for once) – the multiple Ws means it has both warm white and regular white coloured LEDs for maximum flexibility and colour accuracy.

Three lighting modes

The light features three operating modes. CCT (Correlated Colour Temperature) mode offers the familiar bicolour adjustments to match tungsten or daylight with additional tweaks for +/- green. HSI mode allows you to dial in colours via hue, saturation and intensity values. And Gel mode gives you access to a wide variety of simulated coloured filtration.

In all three modes intensity is controlled by a dedicated knob so you’re not flipping back and forth between controls when you’re setting up. You can also record presets for frequently used settings that you can recall rather than having to dial everything in again from scratch.

Remote control

Options for controlling the fixture remotely include wired DMX over XLR or RJ45 cable, wireless DMX or Bluetooth – if using the latter option the Gemini can be remotely controlled using the Litepanels SmartLite or SmartLite Director apps for Apple devices.

Power options

The power supply is integrated into the unit, so it doesn’t require a separate ballast. If you’re not running from the mains you can opt for battery power battery power, although you’ll need a fairly substantial 28 VDC supply. You can also daisychain Gemini units via PowerCon connectors.

Litepanels Gemini price and availability

The Litepanels Gemini is available now for a suggested retail price of USD $4,400.
