We featured the MotoCrane on the site just over a month ago, and now the system is available to pre-order. MotoCrane will start shipping in July and packages will start at $39,500 US. At this price it is certainly not going to be purchased by many individuals, instead being more of a specialty rental item unless shooting from cars is your full-time job.

MotoCrane is claimed to be the world’s first universal automotive camera crane system. It is a complete modular system that mounts to practically any vehicle in less than 30 minutes and only requires two people to set it up. Rated for use at speeds up to 80mph (128.75kmh), MotoCrane is aimed at giving more people access to creating cinematic camera moves from a vehicle.

The MotoCrane Launch Package will be available for pre-order on February 8th, 2017. A deposit of $5,000 must be made to secure your spot in line. The deposit is 100% refundable until the product ships. The remaining balance for your order plus shipping will be paid when your unit is allocated in July. Sales and 2-year extended warranty terms will be disclosed in February, 2017. For dealer/distributor inquiries, please contact [email protected].

If you want to get your hands on a MotoCrane system to try out demo units are expected to be ready by the end of March. Because of the high demand, demo units will be prioritized to customers who have placed orders in the order that they were received. For that reason, MotoCrane will also be extending an invitation to anyone who would like a private demonstration to go to their headquarters in Minneapolis, MN.

*Pre-orders not received by March 31st will not qualify for Launch Package shipping date or special 2-year extended warranty.

While the $39,500US price tag looks to be pretty steep, it is a lot more affordable than purchasing a Russian arm. For shooters who do want to capture the odd on vehicle shot there are certainly a lot more affordable options out there such as the Rig Wheels Cloud Mount.
