Newsshooter interview: Emmanuel Pampuri says the Fujifilm X-T2 4K camera is ‘amazing’

DP Emmanuel Pampuri is one of several beta testers of the new Fujifilm X-T2 4K compact system camera. He has had a pre-production camera for a few weeks and in that time shot one of the launch videos for the camera.

Even though the X-T2 is still running beta firmware he says it is capable of some impressive results. I spoke to Emmanuel about his experiences with the camera and you can watch an edited version of his interview along with some behind the scenes footage above.

You can also listen to my entire conversation with Emmanuel in the podcast below:

Emmanuel’s insights have convinced me that the X-T2 is one of the hottest cameras to watch so far this year. The samples online using Fuji’s own Film Emulation modes already show how good the camera will be for casual use, or professional shooting where grading is not desirable. If the Log gamma proves to be good then the camera could seriously rival established models like the a7S II and GH4.

For the Postcard from Paris video Emmanuel used the X-T2 with Fujinon lenses and a variety of accessories. These included the Letus Helix Jr brushless gimbal and iFootage Shark S1 slider.

You can find out more about Emmanuel and his work over on his blog (mainly in French).
Thanks to Jules Pajot for the BTS footage.
