Matt Allard talks to James from 16×9 about Movcam’s DS MC2 kit for the Red Dragon. This includes a top plate that integrates directly on to the camera, providing a range of ports to be attached along with various accessories.
There’s a removable handle and mounting poles, it keeps the top pogo pins for the LCD and offers two SDI out ports, an HDMI port, two auxiliary outs and a start/stop connector for a hand grip. There’s also a UPS back-up battery system that is a hot swap plate, giving you around three minutes of charge to replace a dead battery during operation. The cage is compatible with a side arm and the bottom plate is Arri dovetail plate compatible.
The kits will be shipping at the end of May, the price is still to be confirmed.
