Musicbed announce Film Initiative competition with $50k US prize fund

Short film competitions often seem a bit chicken and egg-y: often the prizes are filmmaking equipment that ideally you’d be able to use in the process of making the entry to the competition. What to do?

Film and video music specialists Musicbed have neatly sidestepped that problem with the second year of their Film Initiative. They’re asking for your passion projects – but not as a finished piece. Rather to enter you need to write a 350-word synopsis describing your project and collect a mood board of 15 images. Well, and submit them to Musicbed. So no early morning calls, fitting shoots in around other jobs, pressing your elderly aunt into service as your Grip or deciding whether to pay the rent or hire a camera.

I'm planning to make the noir-ish tale of a writer pushed to the edge by moody lighting. And you?
I’m planning to make a jazz-infused, noirish tale of a writer pushed to the edge by moody lighting. And you?

One-week Red Camera Package from LensRentals
