BVE 2016: G-Technology G-Speed Shuttle XL – a giant RAID designed for the field

At BVE we talked to G-technology about their new G-Speed Shuttle XL. A new RAID solution that is designed to withstand the rigours of use in the field. It can be configured with up to eight enterprise class hard drives and connects via Thunderbolt 2 at up to 1350 MB/s. The drives can be configured in RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10. You can also opt to use drive bays to house ev Series SSD or spinning drives instead, as well as the ev Series Reader RED MINI-MAG Edition.

G-technology also offer a custom Peli case so you can pack Terabytes of storage into carry-on sized rolling luggage.

The is certainly a good option for larger productions who need the ultimate backup solution on the road. Prices aren’t cheap though, starting at $3299.95 for a 18TB version and working up to $5999.95 for a 48TB one.
