GoPro’s drone project gets a name, second teaser video, floaty music

With drone companies rushing to get into the camera business, it makes a sort of sense for a camera company to try its hand at making drones.

Enter GoPro’s eagerly awaited UAV, which now has a name: Karma. After revealing test footage earlier this year (embedded below) the company was keen to emphasise that no stabilisation was applied during post production, which suggests a gimbal will be part of the package when it launches in 2016.

GoPro has had a bit of a time of things since going public, facing legions of competitors in the increasingly crowded action camera market. Even a recent hefty price reduction for its latest HERO4 Session camera has been interpreted as doing too little too late to streamline the company’s product line and bump its share price.
