Los Angeles shooters now have a new venue to check out the latest gear from Teradek, Paralinx and SmallHD. The Creative Solutions showroom offers customer support and the chance to try out some of the latest wireless monitoring technologies and field monitors.
“This is our group’s Genius Bar,” says Nicol Verheem, GM of Vitec’s Creative Solutions unit. “We want to bring people in, demonstrate products, and share knowledge” he said. Experts will be on hand to answer user’s questions.

To celebrate the opening a party was held last week. Many industry figures were in attendance including well known folk like DP Shane Hurlbut. From the photos it looks like a fun good time was had by all.
Its interesting to see video brands going down the route of opening their own showrooms instead of relying on local dealers to spread the word about new products. ARRI have done something similar with their showroom in Beijing, China. Canon also now have a number of experience stores worldwide. As sales move increasingly online and the numbers of traditional dealers shrink, I wonder if showrooms like these will become commonplace in major production hubs.
