At NAB Korean company Motion9 were showing off their new cage solution for the Atomos Shogun external recorder. Called the Cube, it offers protection for the Shogun screen as well as providing multiple mounting points for accessories. The Cube has been designed to be very versatile and the back protection brackets can be moved around to the front, transforming them into handles.
There is also an optional battery solution called Volt that allows users to power both the Shogun and external accessories at the same time. A breakout box provides 12v, 7.4v, 5V USB outputs. The design of the Cube allows you to take it off a camera or mounting point and have it sit on a flat surface without toppling over.
The Cube is expected to ship around the 15th May and is currently available for pre-order at $297 US without the battery solution, or $538 US with. For more information or to order head over to the Motion9 website.
