Camlight have been around for a long time. When I first started shooting DSLR video they were quite popular and several US resellers had versions of them. More recently they haven’t been as visible but at BIRTV this year they had two interesting new lights to show.
Their new 007 LED spot light is designed for portability and the all metal fixture has a built-in rechargeable battery that has a claimed two hour life. It is small enough to be mounted pretty much anywhere and can be dimmed down. It can also be focused by rotating a collar on the light – although the angle does not narrow as much as some of the other lights we’ve seen.
Also on their booth was an the PL-1250 light that has similar properties but is more powerful and has a Sony NP style battery mounted on the back. Expect to see it as a final product towards the end of the year.
