At the BIRTV show Brightcast were showing their new S10 focusable LED spot light. With brightness that is comparable with smaller HMIs, the S10 is lightweight and can run off battery power. They will be available with differing output strengths in either single colour (daylight or tungsten) or bi-colour. The S10 can also be bought with DMX control fitted for studio applications.
The unit does have a high output so it does it does run warm but it didn’t seem excessively hot when we played with it at the show. There is a fan inside but it did not seem unduly noisy – but it was hard to tell on the crowded show floor.
The colour accuracy is claimed to be good for a light of this type and the mini fresnel lens can focus from 7-60 degrees. Barn doors are supplied.
