If you are serious about location sound then at some point you will end up looking at a blimp for your mic. Designed to reduce wind noise on breezy days, a blimp is an essential for most TV news crews. The original Rode Blimp was a popular choice and the company have just launched a new version with several refinements.
Rode have added a Rycote Lyre shock mount system for even better isolation of the microphone. The handle has been redesigned and cabling improved. The new Blimp is also 25% lighter than its predecessor.
