One of my favourite gadgets at NAB this year was the Airbox Lights inflatable softbox.

Brilliantly simple, these softboxes are designed with the fast-moving shooter in mind. It takes literally seconds to inflate and attach an Airbox to suitable LED light. The result is a softer light that will flatter your subjects. I’ve been using their Macro softbox on my Cineroid LM400 LED for a few months and it makes a lovely, highly portable battery-powered key light for interviews.

Airbox have just announced the new 126 model to fit larger LED units that are roughly 6” x 12” in size. This includes the Ikan iLED 508, Dracsat 500 and Flolight Microbeam 512.

Pricing for the Airboxes is very competitive and the company say the new 126 is going to be under $100. The existing Macro and Mini models for smaller lights are available from B&H and Amazon.

Sadly, I don’t have any lights that the new 126 will fit and I’m hoping that Airbox Lights can make softboxes for larger LED lights like the popular Litepanels 1×1 in the near future.

Below is a video demonstrating the smaller Mini and Macro softboxes.
